New Telford & Wrekin 10K ready to run
Inaugural event finally makes its debut after Covid-19 disruptions.
Do something different this Easter and run the Telford & Wrekin 10K (Sunday 17 April), a new event from Kickass Endurance on a traffic-managed, undulating course. Enter sooner rather than later though as places are going fast!
Known as the ‘birthplace of industry’, Telford will see industrious efforts on 17 April as runners take to the roads at a new event in a new town. It is suitable for novices and experienced runners alike who can look forward to a warm up by one of the sponsors – Anytime Fitness, before the start.
The Telford & Wrekin Mayor will get the race underway at 9.30am from outside the Ice Rink in Southwater Square. The route goes around the Ring Road, passing The Rock and Thomas Telford School where Amberon Traffic Management will be in charge of road closures, keeping everyone safe and free to concentrate on their running. This event is chip-timed (AV Timing).
It finishes outside the Ice Rink where participants are presented with a new medal and goody bag.
Parking is available and free; however, participants are asked to donate £1.00 along with an item of food in support of Telford Food Bank. Rising energy bills, the cost of fuel, food etc is causing hardship for many and all donations, large or small are appreciated. Kickass Endurance will be donating to Severn Hospice.
More details and where to enter can be found at the Kickass Endurance website.
The 9.30am start time leaves you enough time to run the 10K then enjoy an Easter egg or several as a reward.
