Fast Running And Big Atmosphere At Alderley Edge 10K

Fast Cheshire 10K delivers...

The Alderley Edge 10K returned to Cheshire on Sunday 10 May, with runners taking on the popular closed road course from Alderley Park along the A34 bypass in one of the North West’s best known spring 10Ks. Organised by Run North West, the race once again attracted a large turnout for its fast route, lively atmosphere and strong PB potential.

Conditions looked favourable for quick running as competitors headed onto the smooth tarmac bypass route through the Cheshire countryside, with live music and entertainment positioned along the course helping maintain the event’s trademark atmosphere from start to finish. The fully closed roads and long sweeping sections continue to make this a popular race for runners targeting fast times.

The event has become a well established fixture in the North West running calendar and the 2026 edition again showed why demand remains so strong. Entries sold out in advance, with runners drawn by the combination of a traffic free course, strong organisation and the unique chance to race on the bypass itself.

Run North West delivered another polished race day experience, with pacers, free race photography, entertainment and a busy event village helping create a strong race morning atmosphere around Alderley Park. Finishers also received the event’s themed medal and commemorative technical T shirt as part of the 10th anniversary edition.

The Alderley Edge 10K continues to stand out as one of the region’s key spring road races, combining fast racing with an enjoyable event experience that keeps runners returning year after year.
