Great Bristol Run medal 2024

Bristol Bling!

The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run 2024 medal is a flowering delight!

The ‘Flower of Bristol’ is the centrepiece of the superb AJ Bell Great Bristol Run medal which will be awarded to all finishers in the classic 10K or Half Marathon on Sunday 19 May 2024!

Lychnis Chalcedonica flowers can be found growing wild in the Avon Gorge and has been associated with the city and people of Bristol since the 1600's. The dye from this vivid little flower gave rise to the rich red cloth produced in Bristol known as ‘Nonesuch Red’, or ‘without equal’ red. The vibrant colour has since been adopted by several Bristol sports clubs.

The must-have Bristol bling that will be displayed with pride after Sunday 19 May is inspired by iconic elements of the city. The front of this year’s Great Bristol Run medals includes the Flower of Bristol as the main focal point. The back highlights some of the famous landmarks on the route including towers of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and waves for River Avon.

Organisers from Great Run launched their Bristol medal reveal on Facebook, adding: “We've also included 10 or 13 lines that encircle the design to remind runners how many kilometres or miles they have run. Your 2024 medal has everything that is great about Bristol and earning this medal is a proud testament to the iconic city route that you will conquer on race day!"

The Great Bristol Run is a celebration of the power of running and is a run for everyone, of all ages and abilities, whether it is your very first 10K or your 50th half marathon.
