Lostock 6 Race Start

Sunday saw runners take part in one of the UK's oldest road races…

It was a sunny outing for Sunday’s Lostock 6 which saw some 400 runners take to the streets of Bolton for the 39th outing of the long-standing event. A 6 mile road race hosted by Lostock AC, the race takes place annually on the last Sunday in February.

A spokesperson for for Lostock AC which organises the race, commented: “Thank you so much to everyone who came and ran our race today, the sun was shining, everyone looked fabulous and ran brilliantly.

“A huge thank you to everyone who ran and helped on the day making yet another wonderful Lostock 6.”

Those taking part were equally enthusiastic on social media with Cheryl Dunleavy commenting on Facebook: “Superb event, brilliant atmosphere as always and fantastic support all the way around the course. Well done Lostock 6 much deserved celebrations.”

While Adrian Campbell said: “Fantastic race. Thank you to all volunteers and I’ll see you at the start line in 2023”

And indeed, attention does now turn to the 2023 event which will see the race celebrate its 40th anniversary. The date has been announced (February 26), online entries will be made available soon and all details will be posted nearer the time. Organisers say: “It will be a special one, our 40th year of our Lostock 6, lets make it one to remember.”
