A Call for Help to all Midlands Runners
C'mon Midlands' runners. Headway really needs your help this Sunday...
Everyone deserves a treat after their Sunday morning exercise, right?! And most definitely when Easter is so close! So why not join in Headway’s family-friendly Easter Fun Run on Sunday 10 April, and bag yourself not only a full-size chocolate Easter egg but a quality Easter-themed medal as well!
This well-established fun run has been held annually by the charity since 2016 - until rudely interrupted by COVID! Headway are a brilliant charity involved in fantastic work and they're asking all Midlands runners to show some solidarity by entering this weekend's race. All you have to do is get along and have a great time!
The 5K route loops twice through beautiful Cofton Park in Longbridge, south Birmingham, along a mix of paved pathways, grassland and woodland paths and is suitable for runners of all abilities. It’s not timed, but there will be token prizes for those finishing fastest.
It can be a little muddy in the woodland sections, and some runners may prefer to wear trail shoes.
Easter fancy dress, some will be pleased to read, is optional!
As well as chocolate at the end, there will be hot drinks and home-made cakes available, and a friendly welcome guaranteed from the Headway team.
There’s free parking within the park and along nearby Lowhill Lane, while Longbridge railway station is also within easy walking distance.
All proceeds will go towards Headway Birmingham & Solihull’s local brain injury services, helping those with an acquired brain injury live the best life possible.
So go on Midlands' runners. Help out a fantastic local charity by entering here.
