Asda Foundation Yorkshire Marathon

5 day entry countdown for Yorkshire Marathon

There’s just five days left to secure a place at one of the north’s most popular 26.2 mile events, the Asda Foundation Yorkshire Marathon, with registration closing on Sunday 30 June.

The Run For All organised event has had a remarkable rise to prominence since its introduction in 2013 and has been a sell-out every year since, meaning this final countdown will be the last chance for prospective competitors.

Scheduled for Sunday 20 October, the race offers runners a picturesque course that takes in the splendour of historic York and surrounding countryside, all of this on top of a great PB potential.

Previous elites to take on the 26.2-mile course include Paralympic gold medalist Hannah Cockcroft and Kenyan born Edwin Korir who competed for USA at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Korir remains the course record holder with a time of 2 hours 13 minutes and 31 seconds.

2018’s marathon enjoyed highlights including emotional scenes at the finish with Sean Coxhead and his Good Gym team, an ultramarathon qualification for a 73-year-old veteran and a marriage proposal – all covered in our race report.

If the thought of 26.2 miles seems a little too daunting, the event also includes the Yorkshire 10 Mile and Yorkshire Marathon Corporate Relay – two outstanding events offering the opportunity to soak up that special race day atmosphere.
