Give The Gallop A Go
Entrants get the rare opportunity to run through the historical and beautiful setting of Garendon Park in Loughborough.
One of the most scenic races in the UK is back on Sunday 30 July. The Garendon Gallop 10K will be on the start line with a traffic-free course featuring classical monuments, prizes, live music and refreshments. This is a value-for-money event which aims to deliver a premium quality experience.
This is the 4th outing for the Garendon Gallop 10K from Start 2 Finish Race Events which, in a short space of time, has become a popular race in Leicestershire. It’s not difficult to see why when you look at photos of the venue and its three 18th century structures which are an eye-catching feature of this all-inclusive race.
Whether you look to compete or complete, this event welcomes everyone irrespective of ability to the single lap, off-road route and enjoy a tour of the Garendon Estate at the same time. Every runner receives a technical t-shirt.
There is a warm up at 10am from Darcy Fitness to get everyone loosened up and champing at the bit to begin. At 10.30am the runners are sent on their way from Charnwood College on terrain which is a mix of track, road and grass and winds it’s undulating way around Garendon Park. They’ll pass the Obelisk, Temple of Venus and the Triumphal Arch amidst the landscape whilst hoping to save enough energy for the steep hill near the end.
It is chip timed, fully marshalled and friendly. Free parking on the site and shower/changing facilities are available.
The organisers want everyone to: “Come along and enjoy this summer event.” A picturesque race on a summer’s day is the tonic to our recent wintry spell of weather.
