Pushing on at the Market Drayton 10K

Help MD10K Celebrate Its 20th Anniversary

New sponsor, t-shirt and medal at this award-winning 10K.

It’s not too late to join in the 2023 Market Drayton 10K (Sunday 7 May) and be part of an event popular with runners from across the UK. The course, atmosphere and outstanding local support are amongst the highlights along with the goodies at the end.

The Market Drayton 10K has become an annual favourite since its inception 20 years ago. Dairy brand Muller was the previous main sponsor who provided trays of yoghurts for handing out at the finish – these went down a treat with runners – and contributed to the events success.

Palethorpes Bakery, part of The Compleat Food Group, and based in Market Drayton is the new headline sponsor for 2023. They produce sausage rolls, pork pies, etc. and have donated these at previous races as part of their support for community events such as this.

What hasn’t changed is the course which starts from the Grove School and continues around the town. Mainly flat up to 7K before things get a little up and down with hills including a short, steep one up Phoenix Bank where large crowds gather at the top to cheer and applaud runners as they dig in for the climb. The race finishes on the playing fields at The Grove School.

There’s a real community feel to this well-organised event from Market Drayton Running Club which welcomes families and individuals to the 10K or Fun Run to mark the occasion.

Places are being snapped up for the MD10K and Race Director Tim Beckett advises anyone thinking about whether to enter to do so sooner rather than later.

There'll be a new bespoke medal and finishers t-shirt to look forward to. Find out more about the race and enter at the Market Drayton Running Club website.
