The Speyside Windfarm Challenge brings together a Trail Half Marathon, 10K and 1 Mile Kids Run in the hills above Knockando on Speyside. Organised by local charities, the event follows a network of tracks around the windfarm, combining challenging trail running with far reaching views across the Moray countryside.
The Trail Half Marathon is the headline race, with both it and the 10K starting near Kirdelbeg Farm before tackling exposed trails, steady climbs and fast descents through the windfarm. The 1 Mile Kids Run takes place on a flat out and back tarmac route, giving younger runners the opportunity to be part of the day's racing.
The Speyside Windfarm Challenge offers a rewarding trail running experience in one of Scotland's scenic rural landscapes. With varied terrain, a friendly community atmosphere and routes that test both climbing and descending, it has become a popular late summer fixture for trail runners of all abilities.
