Winter Warmer races return to the North in 2026...
Runners across the North are being invited to fire up their winter motivation as Fix Events brings its popular Winter Warmer Run series back for early 2026. The events offer 5K, 10K and half marathon distances, making them an ideal way to shake off the winter chill and begin a new year of training with purpose.
In 2026, five Winter Warmer events are set to take place across the north of England, offering runners the perfect incentive to stay active through the colder months. The series begins in Newcastle’s Exhibition Park on 7 February before moving to Manchester’s Heaton Park on 8 February.
Leeds hosts its event on 21 February at Temple Newsam, where runners can expect a hilly route on a mix of paths and trails. The following day, York welcomes participants to the impressive surroundings of York Racecourse, with most of the course on tarmac and some scenic trail sections.
The northern programme concludes in Liverpool on 28 February with a run through the expansive grounds of Croxteth Park. Each location brings its own character, making the 2026 Winter Warmers a standout start to the running year.
All locations promise a lively atmosphere with full chip timing, medals for all finishers, post-race snacks and drinks and a selection of surprise goodies. Organisers emphasise that the events are designed for runners of all abilities, from those taking their first steps to those sharpening their form for the year ahead.
There is also a charity focus to the events, organisers say: "The Winter Warmer series continues its long-standing support for the housing charity Shelter. We hope to raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause through the combined efforts of runners in all cities."
