Make A Date With Dalby

Keep your running fire burning as the temperature drops this winter...

Runners looking for a late-season challenge in one of the UK’s most scenic woodland settings are in for a treat as the Winter Trail Runs at Dalby Forest return on 30 November. Organised by Wild Deer Events, this year’s edition promises a spectacular day of trail racing with distances of 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon available.

Set against the backdrop of the expansive Dalby Forest on the southern slopes of the North York Moors, participants can expect stunning views, fresh forest air and a peaceful escape from the roads. The routes take in fire roads and wide trails that wind through the 8,500-acre Forestry England site, making it an ideal venue for runners of all levels.

Now a firm favourite in the Wild Deer calendar, the Dalby Forest Winter Trail Runs offer the chance to close out the year in style. Whether you’re chasing a time or just enjoying the scenery, this is a brilliant opportunity to reconnect with nature and test your endurance as winter sets in.

The event is Canicross friendly with one controlled dog allowed per runner, adding to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that Wild Deer Events is known for. Founded in 2019 with a single trail run in Chopwell Woods, the event organiser now boasts a packed 2025 calendar of around 40 events across the UK.
