Bumblin' Round Bromsgrove
Tough trails await at the scenic Bumble Bimble...
What could be better than a frosty bimble around some beautiful Bromsgrove countryside? 26 November will see the return of the Winter Bumble Bimble with runners taking on 5 scenic miles then rewarding themselves with a pint of real ale or three at the post run party at the Park Gate Inn.
Speaking about their event, organisers told us: "Join us in the beautiful Bromsgrove countryside for a stunning social trail run adventure organised by local trail running enthusiasts.
Unlike the Summer Bimble, the Winter Bumble Bimble has just one distance on offer and sees runners enjoy some really spectacular countryside. It’s a challenging course and we would say is takes around an extra 20% effort/time to complete.
It’s mostly trails with stiles, kissing gates, fields, mud, woodland and long grass. Very little road use, very undulating with steep areas as well as some downhill breathers. Expect to get dirty!"
The race showcases the Dodford countryside and Nutnells Wood and is a delightfully muddy introduction to the rough stuff. Is there any road? Very little is the answer.
It all begins with a run briefing at 9.45am, followed by the Bumble Bimble itself at 10am. The course is marked and there are marshals at various points to support and encourage everyone to the end.
Finishers receive an official time and a bespoke medal for their efforts then a quick change of shoes/clothes and into the pub for restorative food and drink.
