Triple choice for Weybridge 10K

Weybridge 10K was launched in 2017 by Matt Trevett and Weybridge Sports Shop, quickly growing to a sold out 1,200 capacity event managed by multi-award winning organisers aat-events. Read on to find out the options available for this year's pandemic affected event...

After very careful consideration of the situation with the coronavirus epidemic, Hollie Light, Marketing Manager at aat events, has informed runABC South of the triple options for this rapidly growing event, which has been postponed from 14 June to 6 December 2020.

Runners who have entered already can choose to run virtually on 14 June; defer to the Winter Weybridge 10K in December or save their entry for next year's race on Saturday 13 June 2021. Transfer to next year is easily arranged via email before 30 April to hello@aat-events.com

Virtual entrants can run 10K anywhere, anytime from Friday 12 June to Monday 15 June and send in evidence of their run by 1 July 2020, to receive their medal post free. Participating virtually will massively support the organisers through these uncertain times.

Everyone already entered in this popular event (it placed '2nd Best 10K' in UK in the 2019 Challenge Awards) will automatically be registered to take part in Winter Weybridge 10K in December and need take no further action. Weybridge 10K 2020 will also feature a 2K Kid's Run on closed roads on Walton Lane.

Hollie Light promises a special atmosphere at the Winter Weybridge 10K: “We are excited to introduce the Winter Weybridge 10K, which will take place on Sunday 6 December 2020 and feature some fun winter theming – whether that be Fit with Frank in a Santa outfit; DJ Patrick pumping out the Christmas bangers or perhaps even a mulled wine cart at the finish line!”

Explaining the decision to push Weybridge 10K back to December, Hollie added: “We understand that September and October are becoming increasingly populated with postponed events. In an effort to reduce date clashes as much as possible, we have chosen to postpone Weybridge 10K to the off-peak month of December; embracing a new winter theme and whatever challenges the weather throws at us! We hope this decision will enable runners to attend as many of their favourite (postponed) events as possible and – in doing so – support a variety of organisers who are all facing tough times at the moment”.
