New Elite race for Wem 10K
Battle will commence between the best runners in the area.
The Wem 10K returns on 25 September (Sunday) and with a new addition aimed at the super speedy amongst us. Any man who can run sub-33 and any woman sub-37 are invited to take part in a new Elite race on a fast paced course in Shropshire.
One of several events from Run UKAC, the Wem 10K is also a relative newcomer with its inaugural race in 2019 - nothing in 2020 due to Covid – then a second outing in 2021. The fast and flat course on closed roads proved to be a winner and will be an ideal testing ground for the 25 fastest males and 25 fastest females, all from local running clubs and ready to compete for prize and glory.
They will start at the front of the field; looking to be first off at 10am from Thomas Adams School to follow a route with strong PB-potential that goes through the town centre and surrounding countryside. Getting into a rhythm early on and pushing hard all the way to the finish.
The elites will be followed by the rest of the field who will have their own individual goal in mind, whether that is to complete the distance or achieve a PB. They can expect support and encouragement from marshals and spectators and a bespoke medal at the end along with free photos to download.
Entries for the Elite race to be made via an email to the organisers. For more information, visit the Run UKAC Facebook page.
For everyone else, tickets can be purchased for the Wem 10K via the Run UKAC website.
