We're Spoilt For Choice

Some 70 events to choose from on the busiest weekend of the year so far...

It's looking like this weekend (23-24 September 2023) will be the busiest of the year as we head inexorably towards the chill of winter and those shorter daylight days. A glance at runABC South's comprehensive Race Listing section shows just under 70 events ranging from the Vitality Westminster Mile to the Samphire 100-mile race!

In the battle of the 13.1-milers this weekend you can choose between the Hughenden Half and Quarter Marathon; Norfolk Coastal Marathon and Half Marathon; Ealing Half Marathon; Llanelli Half Marathon; Maldon Half Marathon; Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon (incorporating Britsh Masters Championships) and Forest of Dean Autumn Half Marathon.

There are also three runABC South Featured Races at Britain's most popular racing distance: Winchester Half Marathon; Barns Green Half Marathon and Windsor Half Marathon.

There's no doubt where the greatest numbers will assemble and that's in London for the Vitality Westminster Mile on Saturday and Vitality London 10,000 on Sunday. The former is a series of 17 races on a spectacular course that starts on The Mall and finishes in front of Buckingham Palace. All participants receive a bespoke medal to mark their mile achievement, as well as free access to the activities and entertainment at the Vitality Wellness Festival.

Vitality London 10,000 is an elite and mass participation race with 10 waves starting from 10:00am on Sunday. The elite will be chasing medals in the British Athletics 10K Championships and a prize pot of £10,000 while the masses will be chasing PBs, raising funds for deserving causes, or just enjoying a fantastic tour of some of London's most iconic landmarks – read our event preview here.

One special event that stands out is the Windsor Women's 10K on Saturday – one of the biggest and best women's only races in the UK for the past 18 years. “It’s More Than a Race – It’s a Community!”, is the proud strapline on the event's website and you can read our preview of this runABC South Featured Race here.

Wherever you race on this busiest of busy weekends, remember to check your results at the runABC South Results section here, and good luck in your endeavours...
