It's More Than A Race
Windsor Women's 10K is just over 100 days away...
There are few women's only races around and possibly none better or as spectacular as the Windsor Women's 10K by Running4Women which is back with a bang in just over 100 days on Saturday 23 September – on day one of the Windsor Running Festival 2023.
“It’s More Than a Race – It’s a Community!”, is the proud strapline on the event's website, where entries are still available from £25.50, but selling fast.
Race Director Joanne Tranter says: "The event began with the idea of introducing women to participating in organised running events and this is still what we are most passionate about. The Windsor Women's 10K caters for women of all levels, ages, and backgrounds including novices, charity runners, and club runners. The event features great facilities for the runners and free onsite parking, plus a traffic-free course, stunning surroundings, and amazing views of Windsor Castle."
The last running of the Windsor Women's 10K in 2021 saw 821 finishers in 1:45:37 with 250 inside an hour and a brilliant victory for five-time Olympian Jo Pavey (Exeter Harriers, 36:19).
This will be the 18th promotion of Windsor Women's 10K, with many competitors returning year after year. Perhaps it's the majestic setting with Windsor Castle as a backdrop; the iconic start and finish on the Long Walk; the classic finishers medal; the challenging course or the special feeling of running in an exclusive women's race that brings runners back every time.
By registering for the event you will become part of the special community referred to above. You can join the closed Facebook group; follow tailored training programmes written by specialist coaches; read engaging running tips from knowledgeable writers and plug into the energy and shared experiences of thousands of other female runners.
There really is nothing quite like the feeling of finishing Windsor Women's 10K with friends you had started with or new friends you made on the way around the course. To enter and reserve your commemorative merchandise visit the Windsor Women's 10K website now.
