Half Marathon Bingo?

Super spot prize for one lucky runner in the 2025 Watford Half Marathon...

Fancy winning a big money prize in your next half marathon? Not fast enough? Don't worry about that – the Watford Half Marathon has an incredible opportunity for one lucky finisher to walk away with a spot prize of £2,000 in cash!

This unusual – and possibly unique – prize will be randomly awarded in the next edition of the historic race hosted by Watford Harriers and Active Training World from Watford's largest award-winning green space Cassiobury Park.

Sunday 2 February 2025 is the date for your race diary and entries are open now for £34/£36 at the official race website here.

James Shipley of Active Training World narrates this short event video that will give you a feel for what is on offer for the very reasonable entry fee...

The half marathon starts in Cassiobury Park and uses fully closed roads, venturing into serene country lanes behind the Golf Course. Runners will pass Bucks Hill, Commonwood Common, and Chandlers Cross before looping back to the finish in Cassiobury Park.

This year's winners were Matt Kitching (Queens Park Harriers, 1:12:33) and Sarah Jane Swinhoe (London Heathside, 1:24:39) from 1,331 finishers in three and a half hours.

A lead car will escort the race and the ever-reliable Xempo pacers (pictured above) will help you reach your target time. A drummer will ensure you can enjoy the rhythm of the course and the professional commentator will encourage you as you hone your London Marathon preparations or simply enjoy the challenging and scenic route.

After the race, you can experience the vibrant Event Village, filled with activities, food stalls, and a fantastic community spirit. Naturally, there are the usual finish line goodies to inspect, and you can celebrate your achievement with a one-of-a-kind medal and free professional photos, preserving memories of your run.

The main event is preceded by the Family Fun Run – a 1.8K event open to all ages (under 8’s must be accompanied by a full-paying adult) that stays within the safety of Cassiobury Park.

So, if you are ready to play 'Half Marathon Bingo' for a two grand prize you know what to do...
