Racing at the Walton Wobble Winter 10K

Walton Wobble opens for a winter blast

What goes up must come down again at this February 10K.

Entries have opened for the Walton Wobble 10K Winter Edition on Sunday 6 February. Liked by runners for the post-race pancakes as well as the challenging course, it is likely to sell out well in advance.

The sister event to the Summer Walton Wobble 10K with both races known for their ascents and descents that have caused more than a few trembling legs as a result. There are several clues to the undulating nature of this event namely the fact it is held in and around Walton-on-the-Hill and includes a long climb up Brocton Heights. Anyone who signs up is in for a tough race but a rewarding one.

It starts at 10am from Walton High School on an out and back course where the climbing begins before too long and goes on and on in Brocton. It continues towards Cannock Chase where it turns around and heads back towards the school. There are downhill sections to balance out the uphill stretches and a water station en route to top up the fluid levels.

Expect cheerful, enthusiastic and supportive marshals along the way who will keep everyone going right until the end.

There are trophies for the top three men and women and first male and female vets. Every finisher receives a commemorative medal.

Then relax and enjoy a tasty pancake and a hot drink – both of which will be particularly welcome if the weather is cold and wintry that day.

Enter the Walton Wobble 10K Winter Edition at the JC Race Solutions website. Note: the Early Bird price runs until noon Christmas Eve.
