Asda Foundation Hull Half Marathon

Vets vie for National vest at Hull

Veteran runners competing at this summer’s (Sunday 2 June) Asda Foundation Hull Half Marathon are being offered the opportunity to represent England at a high profile event. The incentive is a big draw for the Hull Half, which was launched last year and forms part of the impressive Run For All portfolio.

For June’s race, the top four eligible men and top four eligible women in each category from V35 will be selected to represent England. Those who secure a place will be invited to pull on the national vest at the England Age Group Masters representative race at September’s Maidenhead Half Marathon.

To be in contention, runners must be aged 35 or above on the day of the qualifying race; be a member of an affiliated England Athletics club and have eligibility to run for England; be a ‘registered athlete’ under UKA rules for competition; have pre-registered interest for selection prior to the qualifying race; have achieved a minimum qualifying standard either in the qualifying race or within the previous 12 months.

Tristan Batley-Kyle, Head of Events for Run For All, the organisers of Hull Half Marathon, said: “We are delighted that Hull Half Marathon has been chosen by England Athletics to be part of the prestigious Masters competition.

“We launched Hull Half last year and it enjoyed a great debut and with a chance to qualify for an England vest, veteran runners have an added incentive to enter. We look forward to welcoming them on 2 June.”
