I Have To Hurry You!

Take on your own challenge in York this summer...

If running's more your thing than answering obscure general knowledge questions, then See York, Run York's university-themed lapped event is likely to appeal!

This year's University Challenge will take place on 9 July. Back for its third outing the event is a six hour lapped race taking place through the grounds of York University. It has an out and back route of two miles with a well stocked feed station at the start and finish of each lap and a drinks station at the 1 mile turnaround.

Organisers comment: "This is your challenge. You decide the distance. You can run one lap, finish and collect your medal or you can run six laps and then to the cone of doom to complete a half marathon, 13 laps and then to the cone of doom for a marathon or just keep on going for the full six hours!"

Speaking about the route, organisers continued: "For those in York, the route may feel hilly - it’s where many York runners do their hill training. For those from further afield, it may feel like a gentle incline!"

Each year medals reflect one of the university's colleges, and this year it will be Constantine College - so there is a definite pink theme to the event. The medals are huge bookmark style, the largest medals See York Run York have at any of their other events. There will also be chocolate and homemade cakes at the finish.
