Organised by Run North West, the popular 10K event is one of the quickest in the country with club runners and elites traveling from all over the UK (and further afield) to participate in a one lap course run on scenic country roads.
Starting and finishing in Partington near Manchester, the route heads towards Dunham Massey before turning back towards Partington. In fact the start of the 2023 course is the same as 2022 with runners heading out on smooth tarmac making the course even quicker. There were some outstanding times in 2022 with race organisers commenting: "What a morning at the Trafford 10K! Race conditions were perfect (which Trafford hasn't had for many years) and the change to the start of the course made for a super fast race today and some spectacular performances."
The high quality field and perfect conditions pushed 21 runners under 30 minutes and 80 under 32 minutes. 10 women ran sub 34 minutes with the top three sub 32 minutes. The depth of quality ran through the 1000 participants making it an incredible day for running a personal best, the 50th placed runner ran 31.13 minutes and 100th came home in 32.47! A spokesperson added: "We saw three women achieve top 10 all time UK rankings with Jesse Judd now sitting fourth all time. There were PB's galore for many runners looking to get their 2022 racing season off to the perfect start."
We hear that the race is filling fast and it is likely that entries will have to close sooner than previous years, so don’t miss out on getting your 2023 racing calendar off to the best start - enter now to avoid disappointment.
Entry is now available for the 2023 event which will take place on 5 March - this is a sell-out event every year, so be quick!
