New Trail Race For Bromsgrove

New Worcestershire trail race gives local runners an opportunity to experience the area’s countryside on foot...

A brand new trail running event is coming to Bromsgrove this summer, offering runners the chance to explore the local countryside on a challenging multi-terrain course. The new Timber Trails is organised by the same people behind the well-known Timberhonger 10K road race and will take place on 5 July.

The new event introduces a six-mile trail route designed to appeal to both experienced runners and those looking to try off-road running for the first time. Starting and finishing at Sanders Park on Kidderminster Road, the route will take runners through fields, woodland and countryside footpaths around the Timberhonger Lane area.

The course also includes features typical of rural trails such as stiles and kissing gates, giving participants a varied running experience. Although the majority of the course is off road, runners will also encounter a small number of short sections on quiet local roads around Timberhonger Lane.

Organisers say: "The couse is picturesque but fairly challenging, with several testing hills that add to the trail running experience. Multi-terrain routes like this typically require more effort than road running and you should expect it to take around 20% longer to complete as a result!"

Facilities including free parking and toilets will be available at Sanders Park, and all finishers will receive a medal and an official finishing time.
