Race to the Stones 2021 promo

'The Comeback is On' says Threshold Sports

Popular trail ultra-running series sets dates for 2021

Multiple award-winning events company, London-based Threshold Sports has unveiled its event plans for 2021, by announcing the launch of ‘The Comeback Is On’ campaign, with 60 seconds of pure adrenaline-inducing inspiration available on video here

During 2020, like so many mass participation events businesses, Threshold’s 2020 events were cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. In their place, Threshold launched their first-ever virtual event, the Dixons Carphone Virtual Race to the Stones – which saw more than 8,000 people take part and raise over £50,000 for charity and was reviewed on runABC here

Places for the 2021 series of five long-distance trail challenges will be strictly limited and first come, first served as everyone who was entered for events in 2020 has been offered a transfer.

The 2021 series will commence on 15 May with the Dulux London Revolution Trails – part of the Dulux London Revolution weekend of cycling, running, and walking events, with the trail running element introduced in 2019. This will be followed by the more established Race to the Tower (5-6 June); Race to the King (19-20 June); HEINEKEN Race to the Castle (26-27 June) and Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones (10-11 July).

All events will adhere to government and WHO guidelines at the time of the event, with appropriate precautions to ensure the highest quality of care, support, and comfort for all participants. Staggered start lines, social distancing, posted registration packs, and increased safety measures at pit stops are just some of the measures that will be implemented.

Threshold’s events helped raise over £16m for partner charities in 2019 alone and the senior leadership team want to do everything they can to help support those charity partners as the 2021 Event Series returns.

Threshold Sports CEO, Nick Tuppen, commented: “Covid-19 has put charities under enormous strain. It will take time to stabilise the charity sector, but we believe we as a mass participation industry have a responsibility to help in every way we can. After this year’s hiatus, we are hugely excited to announce the launch of the 2021 Event Series and cannot wait to welcome back our runners, walkers and riders on the start line once again.”

Places for the 2021 events are officially open now and available to enter. To secure your event place, visit Threshold Sports here
