The Running Festival at Goodwood takes pole position

Final preparations for The Running Festival at Goodwood on 14 October 2018 include the announcement of a Family Mile for runners aged 4-16 years and the confirmation that RNLI will be the official charity for the event that also features a top class 10K and Half Marathon.

UK Run Events, the events channel of #UKRunChat and organisers of The Running Festival at Goodwood, are thrilled to work with RNLI for the inaugural event at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit in Sussex. RNLI is the largest charity that saves lives at sea with its aims to educate, influence, supervise and rescue those at risk from drowning.

Roseanne Blaze, Community Fundraising Manager at RNLI, said: “We are honoured to be the Official Charity for The Running Festival at Goodwood, which is an exciting new event on Britain’s south coast. We could not provide the valuable service we do without the generous support of donors and fundraisers, so we hope that competitors will help to support the busy stations along the south coast by joining the RNLI Running Crew to save lives at sea.”

The 10K and half marathon races will be preceded by a Family Mile at 9:00am, where young runners will complete one full lap, or 2.4 miles, of the famous race circuit. Those under-11 will have to be accompanied by an adult but all runners will receive the same grandstand finish experience and the all important unique finishers medal.

All events will be held entirely on the race track. The 10K covers 2.5 laps, while the half marathon is 5.5 laps. All the races feature an exciting grandstand finish along the pit lane, where you will be cheered home by crowds of spectators.

Main race entry fees include a bespoke medal, Ronhill technical souvenir T-shirt, race pacers, massage, race photos (worth £19.99) powered by Pic2Go and a goody bag stuffed with treats.

Up & Running is the official sports retail partner and Ronhill, Hilly and Altra are brand partners for Running Festival at Goodwood. They will be present at Pop Up Pit Shops featuring a range of well-known brands and innovative accessories for runners.
