The Running Bee Foundation's Carl Austin-Behan wearing the special Rainbow Laces t-shirt

Proud day for the Running Bee Foundation

Runners invited to celebrate Rainbow Laces Day by wearing iconic T-shirt.

Today (Wednesday 9 December) is Rainbow Laces Day and the Running Bee Foundation is marking the occasion with an eye-catching top that people can wear with pride. The Limited Edition Rainbow Laces T-shirt is perfect for running and all profits from sales of this apparel will be donated to Pride Sports in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

The rainbow is the symbol for this community with the colours representing diversity and inclusivity – the latter also part of the Running Bee Foundation’s ethos to improve health and wellbeing in the North West via their series of events. Rainbow flags are a familiar sight at Pride parades, comprised of six colours beginning with red at the top then orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.

Rainbow Laces Day is where the LGBTQ+ community and its supporters meet and highlight the benefits of sport and its power to bring people together irrespective of age, background and experience. Wearing rainbow coloured laces has become a tradition.

A pair of running shoes and laces in these six colours stands out on this T-shirt and the Running Bee Foundation logo is emblazoned on the right hand side. The design will be a talking point at their events, training runs with friends or when parkrun returns. Sooner rather than later we hope.

Carl Austin-Behan OBE DL, Chair of Trustees at the Running Bee Foundation selected Pride Sports as the recipient charity and is proud to wear his T-shirt as shown in the photo.

These T-shirts are available to purchase at The Running Bee Foundation Merchandise section of their website.
