The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail takes runners from the historic Stonor Park estate into the surrounding Chilterns countryside. Three routes are available, with a 22K Half Marathon, 13K Middle route and 7K Short route providing options for a range of trail running abilities.
Routes weave through woodland, estate tracks and the surrounding countryside on fully marked trails, with plenty of climbing and descending along the way. The Half Marathon gains around 511m of elevation, while some sections reach gradients of up to 22%, creating a challenging course through the Chilterns and rewarding runners with varied terrain and autumn scenery.
Runners can expect a well supported trail event with timed results, route marshals and aid outposts on the longer distances. Ancient woodland, open countryside and the historic Stonor Park estate provide a distinctive setting, with fallow deer and red kites among the wildlife that may be spotted along the way.
