Racing Through History

Race through centuries of history while enjoying one of the flattest and fastest 10K routes in the region...

Runners are invited to experience a race steeped in history and natural beauty as the Tamworth 10K returns on 26 October. Set in the breathtaking grounds of Tamworth Castle, this event promises a thrilling challenge across one of the most scenic routes in the region.

The 10K course begins and ends in the castle grounds, offering participants a unique opportunity to race through the heart of Tamworth’s historic landscape. Runners will follow a 5K loop that takes in the beauty of the town’s parks, a canal section in Fazeley and some of the area’s most picturesque paths.

Organisers say: "The route is fast and mostly flat, making it an excellent choice for those chasing a new personal best or testing their endurance on a memorable course."

Once ranked the fourth best 10K in the UK by Runner’s World, the Tamworth 10K is widely regarded for its well-organised layout and stunning setting. The course layout makes it accessible while still providing a satisfying physical challenge, ensuring that every runner crosses the finish line with a sense of accomplishment.

Tamworth itself offers a rich backdrop to the event, with its castle dating back to Anglo-Saxon times and the surrounding parklands offering a serene, green environment perfect for running.

Open to runners of all abilities, this event offers the perfect mix of challenge and reward. With every step through the castle grounds and along the tree-lined canal, participants can expect a race that is as visually rewarding as it is physically demanding.
