Entries open for new Telford & Wrekin 10K
Runners of all ages and abilities are wanted for the new Telford and Wrekin 10K on Sunday 12 April 2020. There will be chocolate along with a bespoke medal and finishers T-shirt at this inclusive event.
Four years in the making, the Telford and Wrekin 10K is a new offering from Kickass Endurance who organise the Baggeridge 10K and 5K and Weston Park 10K & 5K. The race is held in the Shropshire town of Telford named after the famous civil engineer that is also known for the Ironbridge Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thomas Telford’s statue can be seen in the town centre near the Law Courts.
Runners will follow an undulating course around Telford, starting at the new Southwater Development before continuing on the Ring Road and passing Thomas Telford School and The Rock. There will be road closures in place on the day courtesy of Amberon Traffic Management and a team of marshals cheering them on.
There will prizes for the top three men and women and every runner will receive a goody bag containing a bespoke finishers medal and t-shirt. Chocolate will be available due to the race being held on Easter Sunday.
Places are limited for this new 10K that the organisers hope, will become a regular event within the running community. There are discounts for affiliated members and local running clubs.
