Sunderland 10K is a RunThrough road race based at Roker Beach, following a fast coastal course along the city's seafront.
Starting from Pier Point, runners head along Roker Seafront on smooth tarmac paths and roads, with extensive views across the North Sea. The route provides long, runnable stretches beside the coast alongside some testing inclines, before taking runners through historic Roker Park and back towards the seafront finish.
The course is suitable for runners targeting a quick 10K as well as those taking on the distance for the first time. The race is chip timed, with kilometre markers, marshals, a halfway water station and support around the route. All finishers receive an event medal and post-race goodies, with free professional race photography available afterwards.
