Be Fast To Run Accrington

You'll need to be quick to secure a spot at this speedy Lancashire 10K...

The countdown to Lancashire's Accrington 10K is on, with race day of 27 October fast approaching but if you would like to try your hand on the super-fast course then there is still time to get yourself a spot with entries closing on 23 October.

The hugely popular 10K is recognised for its excellent course, first class marshalling and enviable gifts to all finishers. Runners can look forward to a variety of rural and urban roads, that are safely managed to allow you to run with freedom.

An undulating 10K which allows runners to take in the scenery during the initial two mile ascent up Burnley Road, Altham. Rember however, ‘what goes up, must come down!’. The reward comes at 4.5 miles as you start your grandstand descent to the finishing line, where you will be greeted and cheered by enthusiastic supporters.

Speaking about the route, organisers comment: "This is an undulating course with a 1.5 mile grandstand descent to the finish. This really an event that can be run either competitively or casually."

There will also be a junior race on the day and all those taking part in the day's events can look forward to a bespoke finishers' medal and a goodie bag. It's always nice to know that you can fill your belly post race, and that is taken care of at the Accrington 10K courtesy of the Walton Arms where food and drinks will be on sale before, during and after the race.
