Step up to make a difference at Newbury Racecourse
Greenham Trust has just announced an exciting new venue and course for their annual Step Up 4 Good 10K. The fourth edition of this charity fundraiser will take place at one of the UK’s most prestigious racing venues, Newbury Racecourse, on Sunday 13 October 2019.
The wide, open expanses of the racecourse will allow organisers to expand the event and Greenham Trust has already added a Para-Mile to give children under 15 with a physical or mental disability, injury or impairment the opportunity to run, jog or walk a mile for free.
Also new for 2019 is a flat and fast course for the main 10k race, ideal for competitive club athletes and aspiring runners looking to race at a friendly, all-inclusive event. Step Up 4 Good is perfect for both new and experienced runners hoping to achieve a personal best on a flat, scenic course.
Adults and children will have the opportunity to enter either the popular 3K Fun Run or the Family-Mile, where they can run for a local good cause through the fundraising platform The Good Exchange. All events will take place entirely within the safe environment of Newbury Racecourse.
Chris Boulton, chief executive for Greenham Trust, said: “We are extremely proud to offer a running event unique to other races in West Berkshire. The race accommodates runners of all ages and abilities, from competitive club athletes to beginners who are using Step Up 4 Good as a way of getting fitter and healthier. We are encouraging children to use the race as a fundraising opportunity for their school and we are also offering them the chance to win £500 for a project of their choice."
The new venue has some amazing indoor facilities and the grandstand will host the catering, licensed bar and various local charity stalls. From the stands the spectators, friends and family waiting for runners to complete their race will have a spectacular view of the finish line.
Registration is now open for this year’s event, so step up now to make a difference. To enter and for more information visit the Step Up 4 Good website
