Charity of the Week

Glenlivet 10K

Feel the spirit of the Glen(livet) again this spring

Scenic Highland 10K returns in April – with no fundraising required

The event long known as ‘the most beautiful run in Scotland’ will be returning to its traditional spring home in the Scottish racing calendar this year.

The 2022 Glenlivet 10K, organised by Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, will take place on Sunday, 3 April – but there will be no requirement to raise funds for the charity in order to take part this year.

As always, the race will have its base at the Glenlivet Distillery, itself nestled in the stunning heart of the Glenlivet Crown Estate in the Cairngorms National Park. Its scenic route will follow quiet country roads alongside the River Livet, offering runners views of ancient castles and the picturesque landscape of this ‘secret glen’.

Runners of all abilities are encouraged to sign up to enjoy ‘superb hospitality and quality event organisation’ for which the event has become so well known.

The Glenlivet 10K celebrated its 10th birthday in 2019, the last time it was held in the spring. The 2021 edition was held in October, raising over £14,000 for organisers Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland. A virtual event was held in 2020.

Although runners are not required to raise funds for CHSS this year, the charity would be delighted if runners chose to join Team CHSS – to help them in their work to make sure there is ‘no life half lived’ in Scotland. But even without fundraising, those taking part will be helping to support those affected by chest, heart and stroke illness directly, as all proceeds from entry fees will go directly to the charity.

Results and news from previous editions of the Glenlivet 10K can be found via runABC Scotland's race listing page.
