Sheffield Shines!

Sheffield shines as thousands take part in Sheffield Mutual Sheffield 10K...

The streets of Sheffield were filled with energy and community spirit on Sunday (28 September) as thousands of runners, spectators and volunteers came together for the Sheffield Mutual Sheffield 10K. The much-loved event once again delivered an unforgettable day of running, fundraising and celebration.

Participants set off from Arundel Gate and followed a scenic route through Endcliffe Park, Bingham Park and the Botanical Gardens before returning to the city centre, cheered on all the way by enthusiastic supporters. The finish line was alive with excitement as friends and families welcomed runners home to collect their hard-earned medals and goody bags.

There were impressive performances at the sharp end of the field. In the men’s race, Alfie Manthorpe triumphed in 29:52, with Euan Brown second in 32:01 and George O’Connor third in 32:02. The women’s title went to Laura Smith in 35:42, followed by Ellen McLeod in 37:45 and Sarah Semmens in 38:21.

The Sheffield Mini and Junior runs added to the family-friendly atmosphere, with children aged 3 to 15 taking part in a lively display of enthusiasm and determination. The Corporate Challenge also returned, with local businesses competing for the title of Sheffield’s fastest workplace, with results expected soon.

A spokesperson from organisers, Run For All, said: “A huge well done and thank you to all participants who joined us for one of South Yorkshire’s flagship running events. The enthusiasm and support from everyone involved, from participants to spectators, sponsors, partners and volunteers, all ensured the day was a great success.”

Entries are already open for the 2026 Sheffield Mutual Sheffield 10K, which will take place on 27 September. If you'd like to know more, visit the Run For All website.
