The Rye Ancient Trails 30K & 15K is a hilly trail running event exploring the countryside surrounding the medieval town of Rye in East Sussex. Both distances follow ancient trails through the High Weald, with a mixture of woodland, orchards and quiet country lanes.
Runners follow a scenic multi terrain route linking the historic churches of Rye, Iden, Beckley, Northiam and Peasmarsh. The longer course includes around 1,500ft of climbing, with varied terrain and views towards the coastline adding to the challenge.
The event combines challenging countryside running with the history and scenery of the Rye area. A choice of 30K and 15K distances makes it suitable for runners looking for either a longer endurance challenge or a shorter introduction to the area's trails.
