Great Scottish races to look forward to this April...

Spring is in full swing (honest!) and April brings a packed calendar of running events across Scotland with something for every type of runner.

From trail adventures to park races and ultras, the month kicks off with the Devilla Forest 8 Hour Challenge in Fife this weekend, a unique event where runners complete as many loops as possible within the time limit.

Hill runners are well catered for too with the Screel Hill Race in Dumfries and Galloway on 11 April followed by the challenging Ben Chonzie Hill Race near Crieff on 18 April, both delivering classic Scottish climbs and rewarding views.

The Glasgow area also offers plenty of opportunities to race with regular events in and around the city providing accessible options across a range of distances and surfaces throughout the month.

In Edinburgh April is particularly busy with regular fixtures including Holyrood Park events, The Meadows races and the ever popular Hunters Bog Trot, giving runners plenty of chances to race over a range of distances.

The month rounds off with more variety including ultra challenges trail races and unique formats across the country making April one of the most diverse months in the Scottish running calendar.
