Up, round and back at the Tysoe Windmill Run

Be On Top Form At Tysoe

The hill might take the wind out of your sails at this delightfully challenging event...

On Saturday 3 June, fans of the Tysoe Windmill Run will be steeling themselves for an uphill battle on a scenic, off-road course in the Cotswolds. The reward is stunning views of the countryside as they run or walk to the top and back again.

Those in the 10K will be digging in as they climb up Windmill Hill then a quick breather ahead of another climb up through the Compton Wynyates estate. The 5K runners ascend Windmill Hill only with participants in both races stretching out their legs on the way back down and on to the finish.

Anyone entered in the 5K walk can take their time and enjoy the view whilst cheering on the 10K and 5K runners making their (painful) way up to the top of the hill.

The course is a mixture of fields, hills, woods and gates including the 180m high Tysoe Windmill which was built in the 18th century. This impressive structure occupies a commanding position between Tysoe and Compton Wynyates and is the highlight of this event.

The prizes are collector’s items with their striking windmill design. There are handmade ceramic mugs for the first male and female in the 10K, 5K and 5K Walk with bespoke ceramic coasters for runners up and age group winners. Every finisher receives a ceramic medal with a bright orange ribbon.

Then it's time to relax over tea and cake. Sounds perfect doesn’t it?

There’s still time to be a part of it. Register now at the Tysoe Windmill Run website.
