Werrington 10K Looking Keen and Green
Sign up for a scenic race with a sustainability ethos.
The Early Bird catches, no, not the worm, but discounted entry to the Werrington 10K on Sunday 9 October. Use the code ILOVEWERRINGTON for a £2 reduction in price before 16 September and get ready for an undulating, semi-rural course in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The Werrington 10K is the third race from Trentham RC along with the Dave Clarke 5 and the Trentham 10K. And like the others it contains a hill or two including a long pull between mile 4 and mile 5, followed by a flat section and a downhill stretch. The race starts at 10.30am from Moorside High School which also acts as the finish.
Last year saw Ross Connor of City of Stoke AC become the men’s winner in 34:25; Rachael Brown of Trentham RC the women’s winner in 40:05. Will they defend their titles in 2022?
This is Race 17 in the NSRRA league programme – the Flying Fox 10, Meerbrook 15K and Cheddleton 10K are the last three after Werrington – and it will be hard fought as there are points and prizes at stake. There are trophies for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd men and women; age group winners and first male team and first female team. Every finisher receives a certificate.
Trentham RC is environmentally-aware and this race will reflect that with paper cups (no plastic bottles), recycling bins, car sharing (recommended) and the option to pay for a medal or not. To save waste, medals are posted out to finishers after the race.
Don’t be a late bird and miss out on this special offer. Enter the Werrington 10K at the Trentham RC website.
