Organised by Lancashire Trails, Run the Raid takes place on Holy Island, Northumberland, with a Half Marathon and Marathon inspired by the Viking raid on Lindisfarne in 793 AD. The event showcases the dramatic coastline and rich history of one of England's most distinctive running locations.
The Marathon follows a multi terrain route from Holy Island to Spittal and back, while the Half Marathon is a point to point course from Spittal to Holy Island. Coastal paths, quiet lanes and expansive sea views create a memorable race experience, with the tidal causeway adding to the event's unique character.
The event includes fully stocked aid stations, chip timing, signed routes, medical support and a bespoke finisher's medal. Friendly organisation, well managed logistics and the spectacular finish on Holy Island make Run the Raid a distinctive addition to the trail running calendar.
