XMiles Preston Half Marathon & 10K is a road running event starting and finishing in the historic surroundings of Winckley Square. The route explores central Preston before heading through Avenham and Miller Parks and alongside the River Ribble, creating a varied city course for both distances.
Runners head along Fishergate before continuing through the parks and following the River Ribble towards Walton Bridge. The course returns towards the city via the Old Tram Road and Nature Reserve, crosses the river again at Penwortham Old Bridge and passes back through the parks on the way to Winckley Square. Both distances are accurately measured and officially certified.
The 10K completes one lap, while the Half Marathon uses two laps to cover the 13.1 mile distance. Electronic timing, route feed stations and finish line drinks support runners, with the central start and finish keeping participants close to the event hub and spectator support.
