Run Northumberland BIG 10 Miler is organised by Run Nation and follows an undulating road course around the village of Matfen in Northumberland.
The 10 mile race uses two laps of a scenic countryside circuit, following a route familiar to runners of the Matfen 10K but avoiding some of its more challenging hills. The course combines gentle climbs and descents with long stretches of rural road, providing an enjoyable challenge for club runners and those tackling the distance for the first time.
The race benefits from road closures and is chip timed by Timing4Sport. Water stations are provided approximately every three miles, with mile markers throughout the course. Registration and refreshments are based at Matfen Village Hall, while finishers receive a medal and prizes are awarded to leading runners, age categories and club teams.
