Can You Run Like L?

Take on this 50K challenge in 2026...

Runners looking for a year-long test of endurance and motivation can sign up for the Run Like L challenge – a five-race 10K series taking place in some of Scotland’s most scenic locations throughout 2026.

The name comes from the Roman numeral L, which represents 50 – the total kilometres participants will complete if they conquer all five events. Organisers promise it 'won’t be hell, but it will be L', offering varied terrain, stunning views and regular goals to keep runners on track across the year.

The 2026 series begins with the Callander 10K on 15 March, taking runners towards Loch Venachar before returning via the old railway line and riverside to the finish. Next is the Hidden Glen 10K on 26 April, starting at boutique hotel Monachyle Mhor and following the banks of Loch Doine into Monachyle Glen – a race voted Best 10K in Scotland and third best in the UK in 2020.

On 10 May, the Thornhill 10K offers great PB potential with a route around the Frews and views of the Wallace Monument and nearby Munros. The Mhor 84 10K follows on 7 June, starting at the renowned motel and heading between Balquhidder and Lochearnhead along cycle route 7.

The challenge concludes on 22 August with the Killin 10K & 5K, the original event in the series, showcasing waterfalls, Loch Tay and a famously warm welcome.

Runners who complete all five events in 2026 will receive the exclusive Run Like L medal at the final race. Missing one event means participants drop out of the challenge, though they can still run the remaining races as regular entrants.
