Derby 10 Mile

RunDerby's Final Three

Four races down, three to go in the RunDerby Race Series...

2023 marks the 9th edition of the hugely popular RunDerby Race Series which showcases the best running races in and around Derby. There are now just three races remaining from this seven race series, but still plenty of time to take your pick and be a part of the running action before the end of the year.

First up is the Available Car Wilne 10K which is set for 3 September. This scenic, flat and traffic-free road race is open to all abilities and is an excellent course for people looking for an 'easy' 10K or for a PB time. Hosting regional/national championships, the event attracts some of the best British athletes.

Into October (8th) and it is the turn of the Shelton Striders 10K which offers another flat, fast course with yet more potential for PB times. The race starts and finishes near Boulton Lane Community Centre in Alvaston and the course takes in the canal path, pavements, roads and footpaths. This event also includes a fun run, so a great day out for the whole family.

Completing the series is the Available Car Derby 10 Mile which is set for 19 November. The iconic Derby Arena will again be the host venue for the race, providing a brilliant start and finish. The scenic route passes Alvaston Park, Elvaston Castle Country Park and along the River Derwent. The course remains very flat and fast and so yet again runners can hope for the elusive personal best.

The RunDerby league table for affiliated clubs (after four out of seven events) has Long Eaton Running Club sitting in first position with Shelton Striders and Smalley Road Runners coming in second and third respectively. Fancy helping your club top the league? Sign up to one of the upcoming races and do your bit!
