Fun Run Returns To Carlisle
A fantastic festival of running is once again planned for Carlisle this March...
Mark your calendars! The Carlisle Half Marathon & 10K is back for its annual springtime outing on 23 March promising another memorable day of fitness, fun and community spirit.
The event will start and finish at Brunton Park Football Stadium, home of Carlisle United FC, and offers something for runners of all levels. Participants in both the half marathon and 10K will enjoy a closed-road course that begins behind the East Stand of Brunton Park and winds through Rickerby Park, passing through Linstock and Crosby-on-Eden before returning on an out-and-back route.
All participants will receive a goodie bag, while half marathon runners will also receive a sought-after brightly coloured t-shirt. A highlight of the day is the spinning medal, which organisers say is worth running for alone.
In exciting news, the Fun Run will return in 2025, offering a chance for families and younger runners to join in the festivities. Supported by Carlisle United Community Sports Trust and Borderway Finance Limited, the Fun Run will kick off at 8:45am, ahead of the half marathon and 10K. With only 200 spaces available, organisers encourage early registration to avoid missing out. Fun Run participants will also receive a medal and goodie bag.
Organisers say: “This event is more than just a race – it’s a celebration of Carlisle’s community and a chance for everyone to get active. With distances for seasoned runners and first-timers alike, it’s a day the whole city can enjoy.”
