There will be another full house in Fraserburgh on Sunday 15 November after all 300 places for the Rubicer Fraserburgh Half Marathon were snapped up.

Organised by Fraserburgh Running Club, the race has become a familiar late season fixture in the North East running calendar. The club's own results archive stretches back to at least 2010, with some impressive names appearing among its winners over the years.

One of the standout performances came in 2014 when future Commonwealth Games marathon medallist Robbie Simpson won in 68:14. More recently, Lachlan Oates recorded 66:23 in 2022, while Kris Urquhart was the 2024 men's winner in 72:25.

The 2026 race gets underway at 11:00am, with registration and chip collection taking place beforehand at South Links Pavilion beside the Fraserburgh running track.

There is another Fraserburgh tradition waiting once the running is finished. The event has developed quite a reputation for its post-race hospitality, with the club itself describing the Half Marathon as widely known for its food, while local coverage has highlighted the home baking, soup and sausage rolls awaiting hungry runners.

Every finisher receives a medal, while sponsor Rubicer Scotland provides prizes across the senior and veteran categories. Prizegiving and refreshments will take place afterwards at Fraserburgh Old Parish Church.

With entries already closed and every place accounted for, anyone hoping to experience Fraserburgh's combination of Half Marathon racing and legendary post-race feeding will now have to wait for another opportunity.
