Regency 10K ready to cut a dash
A grand, multi-terrain tour through Royal Leamington Spa.
In a little under two weeks the Regency 10K (Sunday 10 April) takes place at Royal Leamington Spa on a course that is split between road and trail. There was heavy rain before and during last year’s race so fingers crossed, the weather gods will be kind at the 2022 event.
The Wright Hassall Leamington Regency 10K is a race of two halves: the first half of the route goes around Newbold Comyn – a hilly area which is also a popular cross country venue with the second half heading into town on paved surfaces. The second part passes through Victoria Park and Jephson Gardens before finishing in Mill Gardens.
Marshals and spectators withstood the downpours at the 2021 race to applaud everyone and participants can expect plenty of encouragement on the day, from start to finish. The race starts at 9am from Newbold Terrace East and continues in an anti-clockwise direction on trail and road with the final stretch on grass.
The top three men and women will receive £100, £50 and £25 cash prizes with trophies to age group winners; top two club teams male and female, and the top two corporate teams. Medal and goody bag for every finisher.
The race is organised by Leamington Round Table with support from Spa Striders and other groups and the proceeds are used to fund a variety of worthy causes. More than £350,000 has been raised since its inception in 2004.
A dandy race open to runners of all standards which helps local and national charities.
