Rotherby 8

The Rotherby 8 is an eight mile road race through the Leicestershire countryside, organised jointly by Wreake Runners and Team Anstey. Starting and finishing at Rotherby Lodge Farm, the course follows rural lanes through Gaddesby and towards Ashby Folville, with open countryside forming the backdrop for much of the route.

The undulating course gives runners a varied challenge across the eight miles. From Rotherby, the route passes through Gaddesby before continuing towards Ashby Folville, where runners tackle the main climb of the race. The return section heads back towards Gaddesby and Rotherby Lodge Farm, with the changing gradients making pacing and a strong finish important parts of the challenge.

Quiet country roads, rolling terrain and attractive rural surroundings give the Rotherby 8 its character. The course provides a rewarding road running challenge without unnecessary complications, while the countryside setting and support from the two organising clubs create an enjoyable race atmosphere from the start at Rotherby Lodge Farm through to the finish.
