Walton Wobble ready to serve up a winter treat
Reach the heights then reward yourself with a post-race pancake.
This month sees the return of the Walton Wobble 10K winter edition on Sunday 26 February and a choice of 10K (with ‘that hill’) or 5K (without ‘the hill’) on a scenic course which includes Cannock Chase. This is an event to sink your teeth into and support Race against Blood Cancer.
Both the winter and summer edition is known for the mouth-watering refreshments from local company The Crepe Revolution. Their sweet crepes and savoury galettes go down well with all runners after a tough 10K or 5K in Walton-on-the-Hill.
Both races start at 10am from Walton High School, Stafford. The 10K runners follow an out and back loop which includes a long steep climb up Brocton Lane and continue towards Cannock Chase. They have time to admire the views and catch their breath near the water station before turning around and heading back; giving their legs a good spin on a downhill stretch as they gather speed ahead of the finish at the school.
Participants in the 5K Hill Dodger will have the advantage of returning to the school before the 10K finishers and being first in the queue for pancakes!
There’ll be no shortage of encouragement from marshals along the way and spectatotrs! Finishers receive a medal plus a rather fetching buff as a memento - very useful on winter training runs.
Then it's time to indulge themselves with a crepe or galette to round off the day.
Sign up for the Walton Wobble 10K Winter Edition or Walton Wobble 5K Hill Dodger (a great option for Couch to 5K graduates) via Entry Central.
