The Wall is a 70 mile point to point ultra marathon that starts at Carlisle Castle and finishes at Baltic Quay in Gateshead. Following the historic corridor of Hadrian’s Wall, the route crosses northern England through a mixture of countryside, river valleys, trails and road sections, linking some of the most recognisable landscapes along the wall's route.
Designed to be achievable for both runners and trekkers, the course is fully waymarked and supported throughout. Participants travel east through Hadrian’s Wall country, passing through remote rural landscapes before reaching Hexham and continuing towards the Tyne Valley and the Newcastle Gateshead quayside.
With a generous cut off time, high completion rate and fully supported format, The Wall has become one of the UK's best known ultra marathons and a popular introduction to distances beyond the Marathon.
