Fast Five In Fife!

It's a fast one on offer in Fife this summer...

Fife's QA 5K is back in 2024 for another fantastic night of competitive racing around the perimeter of the Queen Anne High School Campus building in Dunfermline.

Hosted by PH Racing Club, the 2 August event will involve an evening of time graded 5K races and offers a simple, no nonsense racing experience to competitive runners looking for fast times and quality racing. The measured route is flat and fast and comprises of just over 7 clockwise laps with no sharp bends.

The route is proven to be very fast and saw a lot of new personal bests set in 2021's inaugural event and even more in 2022 and 2023 with over 85% of runners securing a PB or SB both years. The records currently stand at 14:21 by Kris Jones in 2023 and 15:54 by Annabel Simpson in 2022.

Speaking about the potential winnings, organisers say: "This year we have our biggest ever prize pot with £250 for first, £150 for second, £100 for third and an additional £250 for a course record!

"For the first time we will be putting up the full course record prize pot, so if only one of the men’s or women’s course records fall, the full prize pot total of £500 will be given out on top of the prize! If both records go, the pot will be split equally. If no records are broken, we will roll the pot over to next year.

"We believe there are few races as small as us in the UK handing out PBs and prizes like we do. It is simple, no nonsense racing at its best!"

To add to the atmosphere of the evening race organisers encourage all those racing to bring friends and family along so that there are as many spectators as possible lining the full course to cheer on the racers gunning for positions, prizes, records and personal bests.
