Petzl Night Trails 10K Coombe Abbey

The Petzl Night Trails 10K at Coombe Abbey is an evening trail race through the grounds of Coombe Abbey Park on the outskirts of Coventry. Taking place after daylight begins to fade, the event gives runners the distinctive experience of exploring the park's trails in darkness, with a head or chest torch compulsory for every participant.

Runners tackle an undulating but not excessively hilly 10K course through woodland, meadows and open grass fields. The natural trail includes exposed tree roots, uneven surfaces and several gates, with conditions ranging from firm ground to mud depending on the weather. The route is designed to be as close to 10K as practical while retaining the character of a genuine off road trail race.

The event has an effective two hour cut off and provides water and electrolytes on the course. Finishers receive a medal and event goodies, with a tree planting token available as an alternative to the medal, while Petzl's involvement adds a particular focus on the experience of running trails by head torch.
